Safety Approved Operator Process and Safety Test

Procedures are in place at The Mind Research Network to ensure subject safety and confidentiality. Before using MR facilities at the MRN, all investigators must pass an on-line safety test. All subjects entering the MR scanning room complete a safety screening form beforehand to ensure there is no risk involved. Policies are in place regarding use of contrast material, scanning women and children, and subjects with potential renal failure. Prior to beginning, all studies must be approved by the University of New Mexico Human Research Review Committee. A Safety Committee chaired by the Medical Director meets bimonthly to review all issues related to safety and use of the MR facilities.
