William Gruner
William Gruner graduated
from New Mexico Tech in 1999 with a BS in Electrical
Engineering. He did so with highest honors and,
among several other awards, was presented with the
highest award given to an undergraduate, the Brown
Award. One month later, he accepted a position in
the Modeling and Spectroscopy Group of a small Albuquerque
business dedicated to bringing non-invasive glucose
measurements to diabetics. In 2003, he completed
an MS in Applied Statistics at the University of
New Mexico with a thesis titled "A Distribution-Free
Test of the Accelerated Failure Time Model." William
Gruner is now working at another small business
in Albuquerque as a Senior Scientist and Software
Architect and is working on a Ph.D. under the direction
of Dr. Vince Calhoun.
