Elena Allen, Ph.D

Elena received her BS in Mathematics - Applied Science from UCLA. She went on to complete a PhD in Neuroscience at the University of California, Berkeley. In graduate school she learned to probe the broab (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdI_MmN-Lp4). She is interested in studying neural coherence, synchrony, and functional connectivity to better understand how brain areas communicate with each other. Elena joined the Calhoun lab as a post-doc in Spring of 2009 and is currently working on examining genetic influences on brain activity recorded with EEG. She also likes to bike, run, and swim.
