Silva is a Ph.D. student currently pursuing his M.S. degree on Computer Engineering at the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department at the University of New Mexico (UNM). He holds a Research Assistant position at the Mind Research Network, in association with ECE, under the advisory of Dr. Vince Calhoun. Rogers has received his B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the Catholic University (PUCRS) in Porto Alegre, Brazil being recognized with the first prize for highest GPA in his class. He worked in industry as a Systems Engineer at MURI Assembly Systems for 2 years and then moved to the US in order to pursue his academic goals. Rogers is currently working on the optimization of feature selection methods based on jICA decomposition. His main fields of interest are Statistical Signal Processing, Data Fusion and Classification.
